About Kelly Winter, Founder

Hi there! I’m Kelly Winter, founder of Beyond the Manuals Parenting and Boston Naps Certified Mom Support Group Leader. I understand that motherhood does not come with a manual (although I would like it to, as a Type A mom!), and I am here to offer support, guidance and community for moms that goes beyond the manuals. I live on the South Shore of Massachusetts with my husband, two toddlers (ages 1.5 and 3.5), and two dogs. I’m a reader, love podcasts and strive to stay up to the date on the latest info out there for parents. I have drawn inspiration for my groups from my experience as a mom who joined a mom group when my daughter was 6 weeks old, which has evolved into lasting friendships as our kids will be celebrating our 4th birthdays before we know it! My goal is to foster a space where genuine and lasting connections are made for all moms who join this community.

Whether you’re a first-time mom or you’ve been at it for yours, Beyond the Manuals is here to help you thrive. I offer in-person groups, expert workshops and events, and a wealth of resources to help you feel supported, empowered, and ready to embrace your unique parenting journey.

I truly believe that no mom should have to go it alone. If you’re ready to find your village and take a break from trying to do it all, join us today!

“Safe space”

I cannot recommend Kelly’s support group enough! I signed up looking for support as I navigated being a first time mom and I am very happy I did! I looked forward to each session and honestly was sad when it was over. Kelly runs an organized and informative group that covers every topic of motherhood, for baby and mom. It is a safe space to open up about any struggles we may face. Kelly and the other moms were always understanding, caring, and had great advice or tips for everything we talked about. I’m thankful for Kelly and highly recommend her group!

Incredibly relevant”

I am so grateful for Kelly. I had my first baby at the end of May and joined this new moms group in July. It was focused on the challenges new moms face and was a safe space to ask questions and share what was going on. Every week was a new topic that was incredibly relevant. Having other women that were in the exact same postpartum time frame as me was unbelievable because we could chat all week about what was going on. I couldn’t recommend this group more.

I would highly recommend Kelly’s group, especially to new moms! She is very knowledgeable and committed to helping moms navigate the early stages of parenthood. It was great to be able to connect with other moms in the area and was something I looked forward to doing every week. If you’re considering joining her group, go for it!!

“Sense of community”

Can’t say enough great things about Kelly and her mom’s group! It gave me such a sense of community as a first time mom to meet women going through the same things at the same time as my daughter and I. Kelly is so knowledgeable and gave us so many great resources for us and our babies. Highly recommend!!

Currently, all groups are 7pm on Mondays in Duxbury. Parking is available where Beyond the First Cry and Beyond the Babble groups are held. Beyond the Baby Talk events may be scheduled for various days, times and locations.

Yes! You may bring your baby, if you want to! It is optional to bring your baby to this group. If you want a night off and have childcare, leave the baby at home! If it feels better or logistically is easier or necessary to bring the baby with you, bring the baby! There will be boppies and yoga mats available for moms who may be more comfortable sitting on the floor with their baby. You may feel free to breastfeed in class or do whatever is needed to care for your baby. We all understand that babies cry, and that is no problem in the group!

You really do not need to bring much to the group! If you bring your baby, bring any baby care items (bottles, formula, diapers, wipes, etc.) that you might need. If you forget, I will have a supply of some commonly needed items, like diapers, wipes, Aquafor, burp clothes, plain white onesies, and more. Feel free to bring dinner or snacks to the group. I will have a handful of light snacks and waters available.

Please reach out to me if you are interested in joining but aren’t sure if your baby’s age is right for the group. If you are close to the cutoff, we are happy to have you! You may join the group when it begins even if you are awaiting your baby in the couple of weeks around when the group beings.

Of course! It’s inevitable that things will come up or maybe you still haven’t made it home from the hospital yet at the start of the group or have a conflict. It is no problem to miss a session, and when feasible, we can try to offer a virtual method to join for a night (technology permitting).

We are here to help. Let’s engage in a conversation.
